Comansa offers one of the widest ranges of modern Flat-Top Cranes in the world. Customers in 5 continents have bought more than 15,000 cranes over nearly 40 years!!!
HISTORY:
"COMANSA", originally known as "IMAUSA", commenced activities in the early 1960's, as jig and tool makers, supplying principally the larger sub-contractors to the then fast-growing automotive industry.
The strong industrial expansion in Spain during this period soon saw IMAUSA producing, in addition to progressively more sophisticated jigs and tools, machine tools, both for in-house and external use, together with pre-fabricated steel structures for industrial buildings.
The birth of the Spanish tourist industry - soon to become the world's largest, with its parallel demand for housing, schools, hospitals, etc., made IMAUSA'S entry into the crane market a logical, almost inevitable step.
PRODUCTION:
The first cranes produced were simple, saddle-jib cranes, ideally suited to the building methods of that time and the first model soon grew into a range of cranes from 12-42 meter-tons capacity.
Meanwhile, development of self-erected cranes commenced, and has continued until today, when the COMANSA range of hydraulically-erected cranes ranges from 20 to 35 m.
By the early 1970's development of COMANSA saddle-jib cranes had already reached the 200 meter-tons "barrier". This tendency has continued and COMANSA has designed and built cranes exceeding 900 meter-tons, although present design and manufacturing facilities permit the development and production of even larger machines.
The particular advantages offered by the unique LINDEN 8000 Modular System crane made it a logical addition to the COMANSA range offered to customers around the world and who, over the years, have purchased nearly 13,000 COMANSA cranes, in addition to approx. 6,000 machines produced by LINDEN-ALIMAK in Sweden, before the acquisition of the world-wide manufacturing and selling rights of this unique modular system. Since that time, the ALL-NEW LINDEN 1000 AND 2100 Modular System cranes have been developed by COMANSA, along with the new LINDEN 500 Modular System “flat-top” design cranes from 35 to 56 m/ton capacity, to complete one of the widest and most modern range of construction cranes currently available.
PRODUCTION METHODS:
Huge Transfer machines, CNC lathes and machining centers have replaced traditional machine tools in the COMANSA workshops, to give higher productivity and precision in all machining processes.
Welders are duly qualified and COMANSA welding systems and installations have been fully approved by the German "SLV" organization, to the highest standards. Fully automatic "Robot" welding systems are currently being incorporated into the LINDEN-COMANSA production lines.
TOTAL QUALITY: ISO 9001
After almost complete re-organization of internal structures and procedures, in accordance with ISO9001, COMANSA has already finalized all external audits, and has been granted ISO 9001 Approval with Registration No. ER-0808/1997. In recognition of the progress made in this field by COMANSA, Dragados & Construcciones, the largest civil engineering and construction contractor in Spain, and one of the largest in Europe, recently awarded to COMANSA their First Prize for Total Quality. It was the only such prize granted to a machinery supplier.
SYSTEMS:
COMANSA control systems are designed by the in-house research and development department and assembled in our own workshops, as practically all the mechanical components and the structure of the cranes. Safety cut-out and warning systems meet all European and American Standards. Switch-gear components used by COMANSA include Télémécanique, ASEA, Siemens, Electromatic, etc. Slewing rings are supplied direct by Rothe-Erde.
MARKETS:
Up to present, COMANSA has exported to over 30 countries in five continents, including Eastern Europe, Germany, France, UK, Portugal, Switzerland, the United States, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Hong Kong, the P.R.C, Taiwan, Algeria, Kuwait, Saudi- Arabia, Korea, Japan, the U.A.E. , Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, etc.
